FAQ

1.  What time does the race start?
7:00 am Registration Open
8:00 am 10K Race Start Time
9:30 am 5K Mud Run 1st Wave Start Time
10:30 am Family Fun Run Start Time
8:00 am – 3:00 pm Health Fit Fair in the NPHS Front Parking Lot
*Awards Ceremony to follow each race. 

2.   What happens if the weather report predicts rain for race day? 
Rain or Shine the races are on!

3.   Can I run more than one race?
YES…10K runners can run the 5K Mud Run with a $25.00 additional fee.

4.   Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

5.   What if I registered and am now unable to participate?
A donation will be made to NPHS Baseball & Athletics.

6.   Do you allow running strollers in any of the runs?
Yes, however you will need to line up at the back of the pack at the start and please be careful and cautious as to not interfere with the path of other runners.

7.   Where do I park?
You can park at Borchard Park (on the corner of Borchard and Reino roads) and on the surrounding surface streets. Please pay attention to signs posted.

8.   Water Stops?
There will be water stops approximately on miles 1.5 and 3 for the 10K and mile 1.5 for the 5K.

9.   What should I wear?
You should wear athletic wear, preferably not your favorites depending on your race. You will not want to run barefoot.

10. What do I need to bring?
All depends on what your race is! Shower will be provided so you might want to think about dry clothes and then head over to the K-SWISS tent sale to purchase some new shoes.

11.  Is there a Bag check?
YES…you can check in your bags at the Registration Area, back by the NPHS Football Stadium. Please don’t bring anything valuable. Park your car and walk back to the stadium. There will be signs.

12.  Where is the start?
The races will start on the NPHS TRACK in the Football Stadium.

13.  Where do we finish?
The races will finish on the alley through the middle of the campus, by the Health Fit Fair. Please stay for the Fair ~ K-SWISS will have a tent sale and there will be food and vendors from the surrounding communities and it will be fun for everyone!

14.  When should I arrive?
Please leave yourself enough time to park and make your way to the starting line. If you need to register on the day of the event you will want to allow approximately an hour before the start of your race.

15.  Where do I wear my race Bib?
On the front of your shirt, pins will be provided.

16.  Restrooms will be available.

17.  Can I register on Race day?
YES…however the cost will be an additional $15.00 and make sure you allow enough time to park, register and make it to the starting line.

18.  What do I need with me to pick up my race day packet?
Please bring your registration receipt or an ID.

19.  Where do I pick up my race day packet?
Packets can be picked up at ROAD RUNNER SPORTS INC. (1714 Newbury Rd, Newbury Park) on Thursday February 9, 2012 from 4:00pm ~ 7:00pm.
There will be some time for packet pick up at 7:00am on the day of the race in the Registration Area, back by the NPHS Football Stadium. There will be an additional cost of $35 for lost chips.

20.  Can someone else pick up my race day packet or TUFF STUFF goodie bag?
YES…please provide ID or a registration receipt.

21.  How do I make sure I get a TUFF STUFF goodie bag?
TUFF STUFF bags will be provided for the first 500 registrants. Register EARLY!

22.  Can you mail my shirt, timing chip and bib to me?
NO.

23.  Can I use my own timing chip for the 10K Run?
NO…sorry for the inconvenience, however your timing may not be compatible with our computerized timing system.

24. Do I have to run/walk the entire course?
YES…for the 10K Run.
NO…for the 5K Mud Run. Some people are running to compete and others are just out to get muddy and have fun!

25. Does the 10K have obstacles?
NO…only the 5K is a mud run. The 10K is a run only. ~ For those 10K’ers you can do the Mud Run for an additional $25

26. Can I run with my friends/family?
YES…when you and your friends or family sign up, note on the registration who you want to run with, and we will do our best to put all of you in the same group.

27.  Do you give out medals?
Awards, including K-SWISS running shoes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place individual men and women for the 5K Mud Run and the 10K Run. In addition, 1st place individual runners for men and women for both Runs will receive free entry to next year’s event.

NOTE: Competition is always second to good conduct, courtesy to other participants, and having fun.

28.  Is there a race photographer?
YES…HAGEN PHOTOGRAPHY will be a photographer.
